Hi, all! I promise, I’m still alive post-Thanksgiving. It’s been a little rough, but I’ll catch you guys up.

Thanksgiving itself was okay. Thanks to those of you who texted/tweeted me luck! Everything happened with only minor catastrophes (aka my mom asking, “HOW COULD YOU NOT HAVE A SAUCE PAN?!?!” Well, I’m sorry, Mom. You didn’t put that on the list of things to get.) and the family came and went with relative ease. Luckily, my mom did most of the food prep, so for all the worrying and cleaning I did (seriously scrubbing down my apartment), everything seemed to work out.

I successfully DIDN’T stuff myself for the first time in history, but that also led me to STARVING an hour and a half post-dinner. So, my boyfriend and I chowed down on some leftover mashed potatoes — it really hit the spot.

The next day I was back at work while my roommates got to lounge around the house. I never thought it would be so painful to go into work the day after Thanksgiving, but it was awful. I don’t see how people in actual retail jobs do it.

Then the past week of my life has been consumed with my job’s Open House, of which I was mostly in charge. I am ridiculously glad it is over; it was the longest day of my life — working twelve hours straight and then having to go out to dinner with my boss/coworkers. I really need to quit this job. Really.

Then I came to my parents’ house this weekend in the middle of a snow storm, which is kind of an oxymoron in North Carolina, but hey. It happened. And I’m trying to catch up on everything I’ve missed while my head’s been wrapped around this stupid Open House. Now that that’s over, I am going to start the look for a full time job because this six days a week thing is not going to fly for much longer.

I hope you all are doing well and having fun gearing up for the holidays! I’m thinking about asking for a Nook for Christmas. Thoughts?
